Mary Harris Jones is significant in the changing of labor laws. She was able to get a lot of people to support her on the quest for fair laws. Because she started that domino reaction, children can go to school now. They no longer have to work long hours. Adults no longer have to work from dusk till dawn. They also have to be paid at least minimum wage. Mary helped start this and helped get us to where we are today with the labor laws we currently have. Mother Jones also led eighty children that worked in harsh conditions to President Roosevelt's house. This was significant, because it made people realize just how bad working conditions were. These began the domino reaction and got us to where we are today, in terms of labor laws. Mary Harris Jones shaped the world to make it what it is today. Without her, there would be no such thing as minimum wage, maximum working hours, or inspections to make sure workers are being treated correctly. Mary had a major impact on our society and the way people of different classes (workers, bosses, etc.) interact with each other.
